Adjusting to a Pandemic World
March 13, 2020
by Terri LeGrand
I first want to acknowledge the anxiety and uncertainty that many of us are feeling right now in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic is affecting us all in many different ways. I will be driving 13 hours each way this weekend to bring my daughter home from college.
Our campaign is quickly adjusting its processes to keep our volunteers and the community safe.
You are part of our campaign’s extended family, and I care deeply about your welfare. Please observe all of the published guidance regarding hand washing, face touching, and social distancing. Make sure you stay hydrated and get plenty of sleep to support your immune systems. For updates and guidelines, please refer to the NC Department of Health and Human Services website, here.
This crisis has highlighted, as never before, the need for access to health care for all of our citizens, paid sick and family leave policies, and job protection and unemployment insurance for workers. Our team is more committed than ever to winning this race in November. Our race is critical to these causes, which is why we will continue, undeterred, in the important work of this campaign.
As I mentioned, I will be traveling this weekend, so the Talk with Terri event planned for Saturday in Kernersville will be postponed. While additional in-person events will be limited, we will follow public health recommendations regarding gatherings and will continue to reach out to voters using all of the virtual means at our disposal. We will continue to listen, seek to understand, and build bridges.
